1. Respect and Inclusivity
- Treat everyone in the studio—students, instructors, and staff—with kindness and respect.
2. Health and Safety
- Listen to your body and honor its limits. Overexertion can lead to injury; always practice at your own pace.
- Follow the instructor’s guidance, but feel free to modify poses to meet your needs. Don’t hesitate to ask for clarification or support.
- Inform your instructor of any injuries, health conditions, or concerns prior to class. If you feel unwell, please refrain from attending class and consider joining us another day when you’re feeling better.
3. Health Disclosures & Medical Clearance
- Medical Clearance for Health Conditions: Students with any significant medical conditions (such as recent surgery, pregnancy, chronic conditions, or other health concerns) must consult with their physician before joining classes and obtain confirmation from the instructor before joining.
- Instructor Limitations: Instructors are trained to guide practice but are not healthcare professionals. Students are responsible for knowing their own limits and must inform instructors of any issues impacting their practice.
- Responsibility for Physical Limitations: Students acknowledge that they are responsible for their own bodies and must avoid exercises or movements that cause pain or discomfort.
4. Waivers and Liability Releases
- Liability Waiver: All students must sign a liability waiver before participating in their first class. This waiver acknowledges the potential risks associated with physical activity and releases New Moon Yoga from liability in the event of injury or health issues.
- Assumption of Risk: By attending classes, students accept the inherent risks involved with yoga and Pilates practice, and understand that the studio and instructors are not liable for any injuries sustained during or after class.
- Personal Property: New Moon Yoga is not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items while on the premises.
- Eligibility: You must be 18 years of age or older to participate in classes. Students under the age of 18 may only attend if accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. In all cases, responsibility for the minor rests with the parent or guardian.
- Waiver of Claims and Release of Liability: By participating in classes and services, the participant, on their own behalf and on behalf of their heirs, assigns, and legal representatives, agrees not to sue or make any claims of any kind against New Moon Yoga, its instructors, staff, or members for personal injury, property damage or loss, or wrongful death, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.
5. Payment Policy
- Class Fees: Payment is required before or at the time of class attendance.
- Cancellations & Refunds: Cancel at least 12 hours in advance for a full refund.
- No‑Show Fee: If you don’t provide at least 12 hours’ notice and miss a booked class, a $15 no‑show fee per person will apply—this helps us manage class capacity and offer spots to others.
6. Weekly (Single & Duo) Memberships:
- Minimum Commitment: 3 months.
- Cancellation Notice: 2 weeks in advance.
- Holiday or Trip Hold: You may pause your membership for up to 2 weeks.
7. Conduct Breach and Policy Updates
- Failure to follow this Code of Conduct may result in suspension or termination of studio access without refund.
- New Moon Yoga reserves the right to review and update this policy and membership contract annually to ensure clarity, fairness, and alignment with studio values.
8. Mum & Bubs Class Safety Agreement
- Only attend if you have received medical clearance to resume exercise (minimum 8–12 weeks postnatal for all participants, depending on delivery type). Please inform the instructor of any health concerns, birth-related injuries, or changes in your condition before class. Parents/guardians remain solely responsible for the care and safety of their baby before, during, and after the class.
